“MIT School of Indian Civil Services” Launches BA/MA Programme in Administration

The top 10 Government Recognized Private Universities in India include the MIT Art, Design, and Technology University in Pune, Maharashtra. It has been working hard to make the transition to a top-notch school. It is a multi-disciplinary university that is renowned for its 125-acre, luxuriantly green campus that is artfully constructed on the banks of the Mula-Mutha river.


Since 2021, MIT Art, Design, and Technology University have operated the MIT School of Indian Civil Services (MIT-SICS). This university was established to encourage students to prepare for competitive exams like the UPSC and state PSCs while still enrolled in their undergraduate and graduate degrees, preserving valuable life experience for the students.

From the academic year 2021-22, MIT-SICS offers the Undergraduate Programme "BA (Administration)" for 12th std. passed students and the Post Graduate Programme MA (Administration) for students who have done graduation in any discipline. BA (Administration) is a three-and-a-half-year undergraduate programme with an internship in the fourth year. MA (Administration) is a two-and-a-half-year programme with an internship in the third year. These courses are designed to help Civil Services Exam aspirants prepare for UPSC / State PSC examinations during their graduation and post-graduation years, according to Prof. Dr Mangesh Karad, Executive President and Vice-Chancellor, MIT ADTU, and Prof. Dr Sujit Dharmpatre, Director, MIT School of Indian Civil Services.

The BA and MA (Administration) programmes are intended for students who want to prepare for competitive examinations such as UPSC and state PSCs. The main goal of this programme is to educate career-oriented students in various subjects, including optional subjects, and to train them in various need-based allied subjects of knowledge to make them competent and ready to face UPSC / State PSC and other competitive examinations immediately following the completion of the BA, MA Course. This would not only save students time and money but will also bring them up to speed with the knowledge needed to pass Civil Service Exams within their regular course of study, without the need for additional preparation or investing extra time.

The eligibility for the BA Programme will be 10+2 std. from any stream with a minimum of 60% marks (15% relaxation for reserved categories) to appear for the entrance test followed by a personal interview. The candidate will be assessed on their educational performance, sincerity, passion, commitment, discipline, and punctuality among other traits during the interview process. In case the student is unable to crack UPSC / State PSC exam, he/she shall be in a very sound position to qualify for other prestigious Competitive Examinations.

Administrative Procedures Aspirants are allocated projects for a semester to learn administrative processes in rural and urban locations in order to design better policies. Extracurricular activities such as debate, elocution, essay writing, and quizzes will be planned.
