Nirbhoy Didi Steers Satyagraha With The Intentions Of Shielding The Communities Wrecked By Ganga River Erosion
They were stripped of their place to live and were facing many problems because of that as well. Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury, fondly known as Nirbhoy Didi, started this satyagraha to protect the rights of these communities and to ensure their well-being.
Nirbhoy Didi, MLA and candidate for the Lok Sabha from Malda Dakshin launched a peaceful protest called Satyagraha on April 7th. Her reason for launching this protest was to support the people who were affected by the Ganga River Erosion in Malda and Murshidabad. The satyagraha took place at various locations, such as Hiranandapur Anchal, Kesarpur Colony Ganga Ghat, Bhootni, and Manikchak Assembly. The satyagraha received a lot of support from the local people present there as well.
The people of Maldaha and Murshidabad have suffered a lot of hardships because of the erosion of the Ganga River. Many people have suffered the wrath of this and have even lost their homes. They were stripped of their place to live and were facing many problems because of that as well.
