Journeys between Delhi and Meerut will be faster and much more convenient. The highly anticipated Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services are soon going to become operational, providing a contemporary solution to the long, tiresome road trips that many daily commuters have to endure.

Namo Bharat will be a semi-high-speed train service and one of the prominent parts of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). With speeds of 160 km/h, the trains will cut down the travel time by leaps and bounds—racing the Delhi to Meerut South journey down to a 30-minute ride.

Conceptualized keeping in mind the increasing need for speed and green ways of travel in the National Capital Region (NCR), the service has been designed.

Meerut Metro – A Seamless Connection

The Meerut Metro will have 23 kilometers of track sharing with the Namo Bharat system and will have 13 stations equipped. It is India's first urban intercity train corridor to be integrated. The metro trains will have headways of merely seven minutes, and commuters can travel between the Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro with ease—on the same platform and without the payment of an extra ticket.

Timings and Fare Information

The two services have finished the final test running and would be starting quite soon.According to the initial timetables, trains would run between 6 am and 10 pm during the working days and Saturdays and between 8 am and 10 pm on Sundays. While the fare mechanism has yet to be announced, it will be expected to be competitive and mass-transit-oriented.

The new rail corridor is an Indian transport infrastructure leap—speed, comfort, and cutting-edge technology all under one roof.
