The much awaited trailer of Alpha has finally come and we get to see Alia Bhatt become part of the YRF Spy Universe as its first female action star.  This trailer delivers loads of action, intense emotion, and lots of drama. The trailer will definitely catch your eye.

Storyline

The trailer shows us Sita, a young girl that is trained by her father, Bobby Deol, for a top-secret, life-threatening assignment.  She eventually grows into one of the deadliest agents of the mysterious Alpha program. During this time, she learns that the organization that created her has turned against her.  She must then turn against her own organization and go on a mission quest with vengeance, surviving, and discovering herself.  During this mission, there will be many enemies, including Sharvari Wagh’s warrior-like character with whom she will have several action-packed confrontations.

Positive Points

  • Alia Bhatt's portrayal of a bold, fierce, and ruthless action star is believable.
  • Sharvari Wagh exudes great energy and passion on the screen.
  • Impressive action scenes are visually striking, unique and fast-paced.
  • Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor lend significant weight to the overall plot/narrative.
  • Hrithik Roshan’s surprise cameo heightens anticipation for the expansive YRF Spy Universe.

Negative Points

  • A storyline that has a lot of similar elements to Black Widow and follows the same idea that a woman could be an assassin that escapes a top secret program.
  • Several of the visuals and action sequences have been taken from other spy movies.
  • The trailer does not show originality and is heavily focused on style and spectacle.

Overall: The storyline is a near replica of Marvel’s Black Widow and giving some resemblance of Dr Strange, as it involves a female assassin escaping from a secret program. Many of the visual moments/action sequences highlight similarities to previously released Hollywood spy thrillers.
