Negative Points

After the interval, the film seems to lose a lot of momentum. From a unique and interesting thriller, it transforms into a run-of-the-mill commercial thriller. As is normally the case with several films, one of the biggest drawbacks is that the backstory is predictable and not in sync with the freshness of the initial part of the film.

The last hour of the film is less suspenseful. The emotional drama, the confusion regarding cricket, and the action sequence have been stretched over a lengthy duration, resulting in a stretched narrative. The film tries to mix the drama with the emotional aspects of cricket, which do not work in this particular.

The almost 3-hour-long runtime is another significant negative point. In thrillers, pacing plays an important role, and I am Game suffers due to monotonous scenes and protracted action sequences. The film could have benefited from much tighter editing. Chaman Chakko's editing needs most improvements as many scenes could have been cut down without harming the plot.

Overall: I'm Game opens with a really interesting concept and returns a strong first half with Dulquer Salmaan’s presence, classy visuals and some good thrilling moments. Nahas Hidhayath keeps the viewer entertained regarding the concept of hand transplantation and keeps them curious till the second half. But unfortunately, the film could not maintain that pace. The film’s predictable backstory, slow-paced second half, along with long duration and unnecessary action sequences, hold it back from being the suspenseful thriller that it was supposed to be. Though Dulquer does a good performance, he has less to do in the last part of the movie. At the end of the day, I’m Game is a movie with a strong premise but fails to take advantage of it fully. Better editing, along with a shorter duration and a stronger story for the second half, could have made it a memorable movie.
