Storyline Glimpse
The teaser of the movie begins with an impactful visuals. We are then shown Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's characters indulging in the world of love. A soothing voice-over from Harshvardhan says: "Tere liye mera pyaar tera bhi mohtaaj nahi. Yeh marte dam tak rahega, sirf aaj nahi" — a line that speaks volumes about how deep his love is. As the teaser continues, we see the romantic love of the couple deteriorating gradually. What starts as an affair of infatuation soon turns into hatred and disappointment. In the climax, Sonam's character utters a spine-tingling dialogue: "Mere dil mein tere liye mohabbat nahi, sirf nafrat hai. Tujhe tabah jo kar degi, woh is deewani ki deewaniyat hai." It is evident that it's not a love story — it is an emotional war.
Positives
The greatest strength of the teaser is its intensity. The poetic dialogue, rich emotional depth, and intriguing back ground score immediately hook you. Harshvardhan Rane, who has made a career starring as brooding love heroes, brings the intensity and vulnerability to his dialogue. Sonam Bajwa kills in her fierce and queenly avatar and provides a complex and unpredictable edge to her character. The cinematography — notably the rain steps and close frames — brings poetic, cinematic depth to the teaser.
Negatives
Although the teaser is emotionally charged, the plot is slightly predictable. The "love-to-hate" formula has been experimented with numerous earlier romantic melodramas, and therefore it remains to be seen whether the plot in this movie is extremely novel. A few of the dialogues, although poetic, are inclined towards melodrama and might not be acceptable to all sections of the audience. Moreover, the teaser reveals a lot and leaves very little to the imagination of the audience.

Overall: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat will be an emotionally intense love saga with a high drama quotient. With the boost of powerful performances and dramatic visuals, the film will likely rake in awards for audiences who love dramatic, intense romances. It will be released on October 21, coinciding with Diwali, which will place it against Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy Thama. Whether it sweeps hearts or will remain in the dark at the box office is to be seen, but the teaser has definitely ignited expectations to the correct level.
