BTS, a famous K-pop band of Korea, has released their statement confirming that they have revoked their songs from entering the nominations for the 69th Grammy Awards ceremony scheduled for February 7, 2027. The announcement was made public an posted on the personal accounts of all seven members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook on Instagram.

They Posted on instagram and said "We have decided not to submit our work to the Grammy Awards this year. We hope that music will be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. Thank you to ARMY and everyone who always supports us".

This announcement has been made right after the announcement by the Recording Academy about the inclusion of the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category in the Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy has stated that this award is aimed at recognizing artistic excellence of Asian pop performances that are relays on music that generates in Asian markets like K-pop, J-pop, and C-pop. The Recording Academy hasn’t commented on the announcement made by BTS.

BTS Grammy Journey And Recent Success

During past years, BTS has received various nominations for the Grammy award but has not won any award until now.
The announcement has taken several of its fans by surprise, especially in light of BTS's notable return after serving its military duty. The band released "Arirang" its fifth studio album in March and achieved terrific commercial success all over the world thanks to massive backing from their fans.

The group has begun its "Worldwide Tour Arirang." After finishing the leg of the tour in Europe, they performed in Paris and were also seen performing their single "Dynamite" at the halftime of the FIFA World Cup 2026 alongside Madonna, Shakira and Justin Bieber.

The tour will continue in the US after the group arrives at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 1 August where a huge number of fans will attend the next stage of the band’s world tour. The decision to skip the Grammys will be discussed all over the music world since everybody is trying to guess the next steps of the band.
