Vaishnaw Announces Safety Measures: Indian Railways To Fence Sections Of Vande Bharat Express Tracks
Responding to BJP MP Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi's inquiry about the safety of railway tracks amid the high speeds of Vande Bharat trains, Vaishnaw emphasized that safety holds the utmost priority for Indian Railways.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that the railways are implementing safety measures for Vande Bharat trains, ensuring secure operations at varying speeds. The focus is on safety fencing at vulnerable locations, particularly for speeds between 110 kmph and 130 kmph, and extending it along the entire track for speeds exceeding 130 kmph. Responding to BJP MP Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi's inquiry about the safety of railway tracks amid the high speeds of Vande Bharat trains, Vaishnaw emphasized that safety holds the utmost priority for Indian Railways.
Vaishnaw outlined the comprehensive system in place for track inspection, maintenance, and repair. The measures include adopting modern track structures, regular patrolling of railway tracks, employing ultrasonic flaw detection testing to identify flaws in rails, and mechanizing track maintenance procedures. He underlined that these practices collectively contribute to a robust safety framework.
