Despite his decades-long dedication to building the party, Grewal asserted that his motivation was not driven by personal ambition for positions or posts but by a sincere commitment to the party's principles, even extending his efforts to foreign countries. He lamented the situation where those who had contributed significantly to the party's infrastructure found themselves standing outside while newcomers enjoyed access. Furthermore, he raised allegations of financial impropriety during by-elections, which had left a stain on the party's reputation.
