Sanjeev Khanna Visits Aerocity's Flood-Hit Areas, Promises Full Support And Assistance
Sanjeev Khanna, a prominent BJP leader from Derabassi and a member of the state finance committee, visited the flood-affected areas of Aerocity to assess the situation. He met with flood victims in different blocks of Aerocity and attentively listened to their concerns. Expressing his views on the government's response, Khanna stated that it seemed that MLAs and ministers had also started visiting the affected areas. He criticized the government for its delayed actions and emphasized that instead of just making claims, they should have taken proactive measures earlier, especially considering the prior alert issued by the Meteorological Department.
Khanna highlighted the deteriorating condition of roads in various blocks of Aerocity and the damage caused to properties, including water entering plots, basements, and houses. He criticized the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (Gamada) for charging hefty fees from people for vacant plots but failing to support them in this difficult situation. The uprooted sewerage lines and lack of electricity were further exacerbating the residents' plight, making it challenging for them to access clean water.
