Dog Show Panchkula

The Royal Kennel Club, Panchkula, in collaboration with the Pet Animal Health Society, Sector 3, and the Animal Husbandry Government of Haryana, is set to host the 3rd and 4th Championship Dog Show on November 18 and 19, 2023, at the showground opposite Hotel Holiday Inn, Sector 3. This event is poised to become the largest dog show in North India, featuring an impressive display of Rottweiler and Labrador Retriever dogs.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at Hotel Red Bishop, where Mr. Sikandar Singh, the General Secretary of the Royal Kennel Club, provided insights into the event. Ms. Carolina, Deputy Commissioner of the British High Commission, will grace the opening ceremony as the chief guest. The prize distribution ceremony across various categories is scheduled for the second day.

The grandeur of the show extends beyond national borders, with participation from European countries such as Serbia, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, and Russia. Domestically, dogs from various regions, including Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and the Tricity, will be showcased.

Mr. Sikandar Singh highlighted that the dog show will feature a diverse array of dog breeds, with some valued at lakhs of rupees. Stringent security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the event. Over 200 breeds and more than 400 dogs are expected to participate, drawing the attention of VIP guests and bureaucrats.

Dr. Ranjit Singh, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry in Panchkula, expressed satisfaction with the Haryana government's consistent support for the promotion and conservation of indigenous breeds. He sees the mega dog show as an excellent platform to raise awareness about indigenous breeds endorsed by the Indian government.

Adding further details, Mr. Sunny Shekon, President of the Royal Kennel Club, revealed that the jury would include two international judges from Korea and Serbia, along with two Indian judges from Pune and Coimbatore. Renowned names among the jury members include Mr. PARK from Korea, Mr. Aleksandar from Serbia, Ms. Gauri Nargolkar, and Sharat Sharma. The event promises to be a comprehensive celebration of canine diversity and a testament to the collaborative efforts supporting the well-being and promotion of dogs in the region.
