National Stroke Conclave 2024 Unites Experts To Tackle India’s Growing Stroke Crisis & Innovations

Stroke has become a critical health issue in India with more than 1.8 million new cases each year, leading to a huge cause of disability and death. It highlights the acute lacunas in the infrastructure of healthcare, awareness, and prompt treatment, inflicting intense emotional and economic burdens on families. To address all these challenges, Voice of Healthcare (VOH) organized the 2nd Edition of the National Stroke Conclave and Awards, on its own, but in association with Marengo Asia Hospitals, which, in turn, collaborated with Indian Stroke Association on 30 November 2024, at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.

The event brought together India's leading neurologists, policy makers, and healthcare practitioners in the discussion on the prevention of stroke, acute care, and rehabilitation. Other key highlights included the Stroke Innovation & Excellence Awards for all those individuals and organizations working towards transformative change in the realm of stroke care.

The conclave opened with an address by Dr. Naveen Nishchal, Founder Chairman of VOH, laying emphasis on consciousness, hypertension control, and the joint action. Others like President, World Stroke Organization, Dr. Jeyaraj Pandian and Advisor to Ministry of Health, Dr K Madan Gopal emphasised equal services, quality infrastructure, and digital solutions for health.

Panel discussions on policy frameworks, quality-driven care, and technological innovations made up part of the agenda. These ranged from stroke data registries and accreditation to artificial intelligence and telemedicine. There were also fireside chats and sessions featuring experts such as Dr. Deepak Yadav, Dr. P. N. Renjen, and others to explore innovation in stroke prevention and management during the critical golden hour.

There was a special session called "Voices of Recovery" where survivors shared their stories of inspiring recovery and reemphasized progress in rehabilitation. Finally, with the award ceremony, this conclave proved to be an effective platform to build cooperation, innovation, and action towards better stroke care in India.
