Chandigarh: The Brahmin Khap of Haryana convened a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club, spearheaded by Ashok Sharma, the State President. Sharma asserted that the Brahmin community would throw its support behind any political party that promised increased representation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Emphasizing transparency, he disclosed their intention to scrutinize the 2019 elections to ascertain the number of seats allocated to Brahmins by various political entities like Congress, BJP, INLD, JJP, and the Aam Aadmi Party. Sharma underscored that the community's backing would be contingent on the party's commitment to the Brahmin cause.
Referring to Bhupendra Singh Hooda's statement supporting the Brahmin community, Sharma clarified that individual decisions to join the party were not reflective of the entire community's stance. He advocated for the formation of a Brahmin Regiment and urged prompt inclusion of candidates selected under EPBG (Economically Backward General) into the regiment. Sharma emphasized that the Brahmins would rally behind candidates upholding Sanatani tenets and displaying patriotism.
