BTS Stanford Stadium Concert Live: ARIRANG Tour Turns Bay Area Into a K-Pop Festival
Following an almost 8-year hiatus, BTS recently made their massive return to the Bay Area with an incredible concert at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto. Kpop superstars BTS kicked off their ARIRANG world tour with the first of three sold-out shows to allow their global fanbase to enjoy yet another demonstration of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook's global musical influence.
The concert marked the return of BTS from their military service obligations in South Korea and as they entered into their new musical era, many in attendance were excited to be a part of their first show back as a group. The first thing was the sound of traditional Korean folk music playing throughout the empty stadium so I knew this ARIRANG was much more than just a concert it was meant to showcase Korean culture, identity, and artistic freedom.
The staging production was a mix of modern imagery with elements of traditional Korean architecture throughout - with giant video screens displaying images that were meant to symbolize earth, fire, water, and heaven while dancers created beautiful geometric patterns on the massive circular stage - while the ARMY of fans created a festival-like atmosphere outside of the venue even before entering by sharing and trading handmade gifts, stickers and a multitude of BTS-branded items.
