Speculation is rife regarding Chavan's potential defection to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a move that would signal a significant shift in his political allegiance.

Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha MP and leader of the Shiv Sena faction under Uddhav Thackeray, expressed surprise at Chavan's departure from the Congress, prompting questions about political loyalties and their potential impact on party dynamics.

In response to the news, Rohit Pawar, an MLA from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar, voiced concern over the trend of senior leaders forsaking their political principles to join forces with the BJP. Pawar stressed the importance of upholding ideological integrity amidst the evolving political landscape.
