Thamma Trailer Review: Ayushmann And Rashmika Struggling To Balance Love, Laughter, And Horror
The Thamma trailer featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna has finally arrived as the fifth installment of the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe. Aditya Sarpotdar directs, and Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Falara have written the film, which tries to combine a love story with horror and comedy. Although the idea on paper seems new, the trailer fails to recreate the magic that films like Stree or Bhediya provided.
Storyline Glimpse
Thamma, at its very essence, tells the story of two fated lovers fighting supernatural entities. Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes an entry with a bang in the role of Betal, the mythological figure that turns into a blood-curdling villain. Ayushmann and Rashmika's characters are placed as humanity's heroes in this out-of-bounds conflict. But the execution of the trailer appears muddled, with way too many things—romance, mythology, horror, and humor—placed into the bag without equilibrium.
