PM Narendra Modi Joins 'Mazdooron Ka Hit Mazdooron Ko Samarpit,' Settling Hukumchand Mill Dues
This marks the resolution of a protracted legal battle that ensued after the closure of the mill in 1992, which subsequently went into liquidation.
In a landmark move, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to participate in the program 'Mazdooron Ka Hit Mazdooron ko Samarpit' on December 25, 2023, via video conferencing. The focal point of the event is the handover of cheques totaling approximately Rs 224 crore to settle the long-standing dues of Hukumchand Mill workers in Indore. This marks the resolution of a protracted legal battle that ensued after the closure of the mill in 1992, which subsequently went into liquidation.
The Madhya Pradesh Government played a pivotal role in reaching a positive settlement, garnering endorsement from all stakeholders, including the courts, labour unions, and the affected mill workers. The comprehensive settlement plan involves the upfront payment of all dues by the Madhya Pradesh Government, taking possession of the mill land, and transforming it into a combined residential and commercial space.
Prime Minister Modi will address the gathering, acknowledging the significance of this resolution and honoring the perseverance of the Hukumchand Mill workers. The event, titled 'Mazdooron Ka Hit Mazdooron ko Samarpit,' is a testament to the government's commitment to addressing the concerns of the labor force and facilitating fair settlements.
