Pakistan faced Canada at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in their third ICC T20 World Cup tournament. Pakistan had a rough start to their World Cup campaign after bearing losses against the United States of America and their fierce rivals, India. Pakistan needed to win their encounter against Canada to keep their World Cup hopes alive, and they did just that.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first against Canada. From the word go! Pakistan was creating difficulties for the batting lineup of Canada as Navneet Dhaliwal and Pargat Singh got out for cheap and pushed Canada on the back foot. Aaron Johnson was the lone wolf in the entire Canada Innings, as he scored his half-century with four well-taken boundaries and four monstrous sixes as well.

Pakistan found their most effective bowler in Mohammad Amir, as he picked up two crucial wickets and gave away only 13 runs in his four-over spell. Haris Rauf proved his quality yet again, as he too picked up two wickets during his spell.

Pakistan was in a difficult moment when they began their chase, as they lost their first wicket at a score of 20. After the departure of Saim Ayub, the skipper, Babar Azam, came onto the field and did exceptionally well with the bat.

Pakistan built a great partnership of 63 runs between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, as both scored 33 and 53 runs, respectively, to guide their nation towards victory. After this amazing win, Mohammed Amir was given the Man of the Match, and now Pakistan find themselves in the third spot in Group A, just behind India and the USA.
