After men's HIL returned last year, this year it is all set to prove the fact that the Indian women hockey players are of equal calibre as well and shall take the game to a further level in India. This is after India's women's hockey team gave the world an incredible show in the Tokyo Olympics when it finished with a very good fourth position even as it missed qualification for the Paris Olympics.

Every side has a star Indian captain. Delhi SG Pipers has Navneet Kaur and Bengal Tigers by Udita Duhan, the costliest sale at the auction for ₹32 lakh. The Soorma Hockey Club has two joint captains in the form of Salima Tete and Savita Punia; Neha Goyal leads the Odisha Warriors. International celebrities in this league make for an enthralling competition in local and international talent.
