Mamata Banerjee Government Condemned By Opposition Over Disturbing Viral Video Of Assault

According to the opposition parties, the attacker is a local strongman named Tajemul, who is allegedly connected to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party. He is known for delivering "instant justice" in local disputes. However, the reason for the assault remains unclear. The local police have registered a case and are searching for the accused. The Trinamool government has not yet responded to the video.

BJP leader Amit Malviya called this incident the "ugly face of Mamata Banerjee's rule in West Bengal." He claimed that Tajemul is close to Chopra MLA Hamidur Rahaman and criticized the Chief Minister for not maintaining law and order. Malviya also mentioned past incidents, such as the Sandeshkhali controversy, where TMC leaders were accused of sexual harassment, land grabbing, and extortion. He urged the National Commission for Women to take action.

CPM state secretary and former MP Mohammed Salim also flagged the video, calling it a case of "bulldozer justice" under Mamata Banerjee's rule. He added that the person who filmed the video has been forced out of his home. Salim accused Tajemul of being involved in the murder of a local Left leader.

Salim also took a dig at both the TMC and BJP, suggesting that the "Suvendu model" of injustice continues in Bengal. This was a reference to Suvendu Adhikari, a former TMC leader who joined BJP.

The opposition's strong reaction highlights the ongoing political tension in West Bengal, with serious concerns about law and order in the state.
