The trailer of Haq has finally arrived, and within a minute and three seconds, it sets the tone for what could well be one of the toughest courtroom thrillers in years. Storyline
The 1:12 teaser begins with a glimpse of a tender love affair between wife (Yami Gautam Dhar) and husband (Emraan Hashmi), only to descend into a fight that cuts across family lines. The narrative goes into the Shah Bano Begum case, a historic Supreme Court judgment that created political controversy around secular law vs personal law in India. Drawing inspiration from Jigna Vora's book Bano: Bharat ki Beti, Haq presents the way in which a woman's voice of pain rattled the nation's social and legal landscape. Yami is Shah Bano, who will not remain silent, demanding her rights under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, and Emraan is the lawyer who determines the fate of the case.
