Positive Aspects

The second season effectively utilizes its authentic representation of the early 2000s, as well as an above-average detail-oriented observance. Munawar Faruqui has a more measured, complex performance, deftly balancing vulnerability with intensity. The cinemetography, especially in the dark rooms and disorderly street chases, serves well to capture the edginess of Mumbai's mafia. Gulshan Grover and Raza Murad, among other capable supporting actors, give the narrative ground, with propulsive direction and pace making for a pleasing amount of excitement.

Negative Aspects

Some of the supporting roles, while informative and humorously interesting to the plot, sometimes added so much exposition that the conflict sometimes became diluted, then, not, but sometimes, being redundant and circular; we kept waiting on those useless moments of tension. The same goes for the romantic track, sparking emotion, but it eventually began to feel as if it diluted the central narration of crime and redemption overlap. I found a few of the supporting characters, or overall (perhaps family members) should have added measures to make their eventual arc feel important enough when addressed. We missed the depth of storyline choice for them.

Overall: First Copy Season 2 remains a gritty, punchy and dramatic story that easily balances crime and drama. Despite the minor flaws, it remains a compelling watch on its own standing as an immediate thriller in the chaotic underworld of Mumbai.
