Spider-Noir Trailer Review: Nicolas Cage Brings Dark Style And Mystery To Marvel’s Noir Universe
Spider-Noir's first official trailer has dropped and it's a visual masterpiece drenched with emotion and superhero action. Nicolas Cage is the superhero Ben Reilly in this series that Oren Uziel is producing for Prime Video and MGM+. It's designed for all the Marvel fans out there and it will give them a chance to see a great mystery story and noir-type action taking place in the crime-ridden streets of New York during the 1930's. This series will be an audacious new look at the Spider-Man mythos, and fans have been wanting to see the noir style on the big screen in a live-action format.
Storyline
Essentially, "Spider-Man Noir" tells the story of Ben Reilly, an emotionally broken detective who is plagued by the pain resulting from a loss he experienced early in life. With the struggles of life in a crime-infested and corrupt 1930s New York City, Spider-Man must find the heroic identity he had lost and become New York City's sole masked hero so that he may stop the widespread crime that exists throughout all areas of New York City. He must also battle with his emotional trauma due to his past loss, which will create excruciatingly difficult moral dilemmas and roadblocks for him to overcome.
Spider-Noir differs from the typical comic book portrayal of Spider-Man in that he is portrayed more in line with his detective roots and the elements of psychological drama than as a colourfully dressed superhero. Although the series is part of the Marvel multiverse, the constraints of the Spider-Verse line will not apply, providing the creators with the ability to explore a darker and more realistic portrayal.
