After not getting the response he wanted from Agent, Akhil Akkineni is now back in the game with Lenin hoping for a significant return to the cinema. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the film promises to be full of action, romance and rural drama. The 3:9 minute trailer offers a glimpse into a world full of raw emotion; thrill and powerful action with village politics added as simple as possible.

Storyline

The storyline begins as a love story but unfolds quickly into a major battle between good and evil due to a series of circumstances beyond the main character's control, who happens to be living in a village governed by power, respect and violence. Even after all that happens to him, he will eventually find a way to get justice for himself and protect the ones he loves just as fearlessly as he is portrayed to be in the trailer.

Bhagyashri Borse portrays the female lead character in the film, providing a romantic element to an understanding action-based plot. Without giving away too much information from the trailer, it is safe to say that something will occur that will impact the fate of an entire village and can all be determined during the events depicted in the trailer.

Positive Points

The major advantage goes to Akhil Akkineni's performance as he has come across far more convincing this time than in prior attempts. This is especially true when we see him performing stunts. With its use of rural settings, we get to see a nice visual style along with a good representation of different environments through Leon Britto's photography. The trailer benefits from Thaman S's musical score which has helped make many of the scenes powerful. Also, it looks like the supporting cast members such as Sivaji, Brahmaji, Getup Srinu and Easwari Rao will all deliver solid performances as well. This trailer does an excellent job of balancing the three genres of romance, drama, and action, ensuring that we are entertained from start to finish.

Negative Points

Although the trailers do look good, the story behind them seems very familiar. So many south Indian movies have used the revenge and action genre as their basis that it makes the story seem predicable. The trailer emphasizes action but does not speak much at all to the emotional relationships between characters, so it seems there will be little emotional connection. Additionally, some of the dialogue had just about nothing interesting in them and therefore will not leave much of an impression. Finally, since the trailer does not show us who the main villain is, we will lose the tension that can come from having a powerful villain.

Overall: Lenin has created a fun trailer with adventure, love, and stunning visuals. Although the plot may be fairly typical, Akhil Akkineni has really improved his performance. The energy from Thaman's score enhances the overall experience and adds to the overall rustic aesthetic of the film. If all of the feelings in this story can be matched up to what we see in this trailer, then Lenin has the ability to be the successful comeback project of Akhil Akkineni.
