Positive Points

Instead of relying heavily on dialogue and exposition, the teaser creates suspense and tension through mood and scenes with characters. Akshay Kumar's new mysterious character in the trailer makes the teaser exciting. Akshay Kumar has proved to be a versatile actor in comedy, action, and drama genres, but his character appears different in the new dark environment. In this teaser, he uses his expressions and screen presence to evoke fear without showing anything about his character. The line “HE hears the danger…I AM the danger!” adds another charm to his ambiguity. The other thrilling aspect in the teaser is Saif Ali Khan’s blind character. Here, he is not shown as just a blind person begging for help. Saif’s performance is appropriate for the thriller genre as his body language and expressions hint at the fact that there is something more significant about his character. 

The teaser has effectively captured the film's atmosphere. With dark visuals, enigmatic situations, and little information, the atmosphere becomes captivating. What is important to notice is that the film directors have made sure not to give away any significant plot details. In case of a thriller, that is a huge plus, since the audience gets to enjoy the picture without knowing any important turns of events. Along with Akshay and Saif, the film will also star Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary, and Manoj Joshi in leading roles. The experience of the actors indicates that the film will most likely have many major characters and sub-plots.

Negative Points

However, the teaser has some drawbacks as well. Firstly, while it successfully creates mystery, it seems too secretive. The viewers receive no clues about the actual plot, but definitely understand the mood and the characters. In regard to the idea "Hero ya Haiwaan?" - it sounds interesting, but the movie has to be well-written so that this mystery will not become boring once it is revealed. Moreover, there is a concern that the dark tone as well as seriousness of the trailer might delude the audience into thinking that the film will be of very high quality. If the movie does not measure up to the high expectations the trailer has generated, the excitement from the trailer may soon disappear. We do not see much of the supporting characters in the trailer, which is understandable in view of the fact that it is a very short trailer, but it raises a question as to their importance for the story.

Overall: “So far” the Haiwaan trailer presents an effective way to shed light on a presumably dark thriller. The major achievements offered by it include Akshay Kumar's villainous look and Saif Ali Khan's role of the blind man. Also, it represents Priyadarshan's effort to test the waters of the darker genre. The trailer avoids revealing the story but raises questions instead. Who looks like the real goodness? Who is the haiwaan? How is Akshay connected with Saif? These unsolved questions are very likely to make people wish to watch the movie. With its potentially appealing main characters, excellent supporting actors, intriguing story, and uncanny atmosphere, Haiwaan has raised expectations as it approaches its release date of September 11, 2026.
