The SAFE Initiative By SIAM Promotes Eco-Friendly Activities Nationwide On The Eve Of World Environment Day
This international conference solidified the role of SIAM as a leader in promoting sustainable mobility.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) celebrated World Environment Day in a very special way by starting an initiative going by the name of SAFE. The Society for Automotive Fitness and Environment (SAFE) saw the organization of various eco-friendly activities all over the country with the help of automobile dealers and service stations. The theme of this year's event was “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.”

To promote this theme, SIM organized various awareness campaigns. Their efforts included offering free Pollution Under Control (PUC) check-ups and certificates for vehicles at authorized centers. To highlight the importance of environmental conservation, they gave away free saplings to customers. The Executive Director of SIAM, Mr. Prashant K. Banerjee, stated, "World Environment Day provides an appropriate moment for us to reaffirm our commitment to environmental preservation. Through our SAFE initiative, we strive to foster a culture of sustainability within the automotive sector and beyond. This year's activities, from free PUC check-ups to sapling distributions, actively showcase our dedication to promoting eco-friendly practices and raising awareness about critical environmental issues."
