Following the successful implementation of iCNG technology in the Tiago and Tigor models, Tata Motors has extended its CNG offerings to the personal segment with the Altroz iCNG. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, expressed his thoughts on the launch. He stated that customers are increasingly opting for alternate fuel options to achieve both economical and eco-friendly drives. CNG has gained significant acceptance due to its wide availability and accessibility. However, the traditional drawback of choosing CNG was the compromise on aspirational features and reduced boot space. Tata Motors addressed the first concern in January 2022 by introducing the advanced iCNG technology in the Tiago and Tigor models, providing superior performance and top-end features. Now, with the launch of the Altroz iCNG, Tata Motors has resolved the issue of reduced boot space, setting a new benchmark in the CNG market.
