Max Verstappen showcased his dominance in the gripping start to the 2024 Formula 1 season by clinching pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix after an intense qualifying session. Setting a blistering time of 1m 29.179s in his second Q3 run, the Red Bull driver established a commanding lead over his rivals.
Chasing Verstappen were Charles Leclerc of Ferrari and George Russell of Mercedes, finishing within two-tenths and a tenth of a second behind, respectively. Verstappen's teammate, Sergio Perez, settled for fifth place, trailing nearly half a second behind the leader.
