Among the features slated for removal are functionalities allowing users to send emails, videos, or audio messages using their voice. Tasks such as making reservations, sending payments, and posting on social media will also no longer be achievable through voice commands. Additionally, users will lose the ability to manage a stopwatch on Smart Displays and Speakers.

Furthermore, Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 devices will no longer support voice control for activities. Calls made from speakers and Smart Displays will lack caller ID unless the Duo app is in use.

To bring about a more consistent user experience within the Google app, the tech giant is implementing changes. The microphone icon, traditionally associated with voice commands, will now trigger search results in response to user queries. However, this modification means that users won't be able to use the Search bar microphone for actions like turning on lights or sending messages.

This strategic decision reflects Google's commitment to optimizing its virtual assistant capabilities, ensuring that users can enjoy seamless and impactful experiences. By discontinuing less-used features, Google aims to refine and elevate the performance of Google Assistant, aligning with user preferences and technological advancements in the digital assistant space.
