Shahid Kapoor's Gritty Act: Shahid runs the show with his powerful act of a terrorising cop. Power is delivered in both action performance and emotional depth.

Rosshan Andrrews: He was telling an action-packed story of Afghanistan, which perhaps gives him a great entry into the Hindi film industry. His action scenes were well executed.

Excellent Support: At best, one could say the performances by Pooja Hegde, Kubbra Sait, and Pavail Gulati could have infused more depth into the narrative.

Deva is one such film where action and drama blend perfectly in the lead character played by Shahid Kapoor. Minor flaws at times with respect to pace and predictability don't affect this film, as it is a treat to watch on the big screen. A promising debut directorial effort from Rosshan Andrrews makes the film, coupled with good action sequences and compelling performances. Deva will hit theatres on January 31.
