In a significant parliamentary session on Thursday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget, maintaining a tradition of fiscal responsibility and refraining from populist announcements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, responding to the interim budget, commended it as inclusive and innovative, outlining a blueprint for the nation's future.
Addressing the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation for the interim general budget, highlighting its focus on empowerment across four pillars essential for a developed India: the youth, the poor, women, and farmers. Modi acknowledged the absence of grandiose declarations and emphasized the budget's commitment to laying the groundwork for a robust India in 2047.
In a released video message, the Prime Minister underscored the budget's role as a guarantee to fortify the foundations of a developed India. He lauded the inclusive and innovative approach, emphasizing the government's commitment to continuity. Modi extended congratulations to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her entire team for their efforts.

The Prime Minister noted that the budget resonates with the aspirations of young India, emphasizing two pivotal decisions. Firstly, the allocation of a substantial Rs 1 lakh crore fund for research and innovation, showcasing the government's dedication to fostering technological advancements. Secondly, the expansion of tax exemptions for startups was announced, aligning with the vision to encourage entrepreneurial spirit.
Modi highlighted the historic high of Rs 11 lakh 11 thousand 111 crore allocated to capital expenditure while maintaining control over the fiscal deficit. He proudly pointed out the government's achievements, including the construction of over 4 crore houses for the underprivileged, with an ambitious target of 2 crore additional new houses.
Turning attention to women empowerment, Modi mentioned the initial goal of creating 2 crore women Lakhpati Didi, which has now been elevated to a target of 3 crore. Significantly, the budget unveiled pivotal decisions benefiting farmers, encompassing the use of NANO DAP, new schemes for animals, expansion of PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, and a self-reliant oil seed campaign aimed at boosting farmers' income and reducing expenses.
