Alia Bhatt Stuns In Tarun Tahiliani Saree Gown At Cannes 2026, Flaunts Desi Glamour Globally
At the Cannes Film Festival, Alia Bhatt made a grand entrance on the red carpet with her stunning outfit by fashion designer Tamara Ralph – an elegant pastel peach couture gown. She gained much attention for being at Cannes for the first time with Harshvardhan Kapoor and wearing this haute couture piece.
Alia hit the headlines when she showed up on Day 2 of the Bharat Pavilion opening in a Tarun Tahiliani couture gown created especially for her by one of India’s premier designers that specializes in creating new prints and patterns based on traditional Indian garments (Indian silk saris). The selection of this gown also served as a representation of her cultural roots as well as a representation of being proud to be an Indian woman.
Alia combined heritage style textiles from Indian regions hand-crafted with modern couture creation methods to create what we view as a fashion-forward look. Alia wore an ivory/gold outfit that consisted of two main components - a structured corsett bodice (as the top) and a draped dhoti (skirt) - both made from luxurious Chanderi fabric manually woven from silk tissue with burnsihing finish in gold and ivory therefore achieving an elegant and regal look.
