RR Kabel Invites Industry Professionals To Discuss The Significance Of Electrical Fire Safety And High Quality Wires
Electrical short circuits, which commonly originate from low-quality wires and connections, are the main reason for fire incidents in India. Around 73% of all human fatalities in the previous ten years, according to ASCI data, were caused by electrocution, with electrical fires and lightning accounting for the remaining 16% and 11%, respectively. A lesser known truth is that during a fire breakout, smoke inhalation kills more people than the fire itself. Industry leaders Vipul Ray, MD of Elmex Group and Immediate Past President of IEEMA, and S. Gopa Kumar, MD of Cape Electric and Member of NFE (National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety), in addition to Mr. Shreegopal Kabra, Managing Director of RR Kabel and Past President of IEEMA, highlighted the lack of priority given to high-quality products in order to address these serious risks.
In light of this, the leaders stressed the necessity of drafting legislation to implement strict penalties against developers who utilise fake wires and cables or wires of inferior quality. India is experiencing a rising problem with counterfeit goods, which results in significant losses for the nation. Above all, because they are composed of subpar materials, counterfeit wires are a serious problem that puts customers lives in danger. Manufacturers of wire and cable can significantly improve safety in the nation. For instance, LS0H (Low Smoke, Zero Halogen) wires were initially made available in India by RR Kabel because they don't release a hazardous mixture of gas, acid, and smoke in the event of an accident.
