Aamir Khan is once again on the silver screen with "Sitaare Zameen Par", the spiritual follow-up to his 2007 critically acclaimed hit "Taare Zameen Par". After the disappointment with "Laal Singh Chaddha," the excitement from this movie is really high. The latest trailer has raked up curiosity, praises, and controversy albeit at the same time.

STORYLINE

The teaser acquaints us with the personality of Aamir Khan, a cranky and disillusioned basketball coach compelled to mentor a team of intellectually challenged children. He is resistant initially but develops a connection with the children and finds himself surprised by warmth and inspiration amidst their tenacity. This quest of emotions plays out against sportsmanship, people bonding, and redemption.

Positive Points

One of the most positive aspects of Sitaare Zameen Par's trailer is its emotional punch. The imagery is superbly carpented on screen, warmth and vulnerability abetted by cinematic panache. Aamir Khan is excellent as a soiled, cranky coach who gets reformed—a change that promises trouble and redemption. His presence gives star power and emotional credibility to the film.

The inclusion of 10 new faces—Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar—brings a casual, raw energy to the story.
Their performance, though glimpsed briefly, appears natural and effective. Genelia Deshmukh's guest role brings another level, and her brief drop-in appears important.

Negative Points

The trailer is not perfect, though. Its most glaring flaw is the fact that it appears and feels strangely familiar like the movie Champions, and which caused an online uproar in the form of a viral backlash. Frame-for-frame identical shots have raised doubts about the authenticity of the film as a work of origin, raising brow about its potential as a remake rather than an original narrative.

Director R.S. Prasanna does maintain a balance of humor and sentiment very well. The trailer's tone appears to be positive, with a little bit of Taare Zameen Par for its emotional quotient, making it appealing to the old as well as the new generations.

Overall: Sitaare Zameen Par*'s trailer is a nice combination of drama, emotion, and hope, but the plagiarism scandal could overshadow it. The eventual success of the film will also depend on the extent to which it touches people's hearts after the trailer.
