Ohh My Dog depicts the relationship between man and dog, but with derailed exposition about the subject. In Bihar, a faithful dog named Oscar begins a sentimental journey after his owner Prince disappears in an unexpected manner. Following his instincts and devotion, Oscar does not stop looking for his owner despite the crises he faces. The film shows parallel stories that convey two messages: dogs are loyal creatures and raises a question about the capability of human beings to show unconditional love. It is not an action or suspense film but a drama focused on emotion and family.

The main positive of the film is its emotional genuineness. The film never treats its dog characters without a serious attitude as it is done in comedies. Even if the film is about dogs, the film is full of emotion and meaning, as well as the fact that its messages are important for any person regardless of their age. Amit Rai deserves credit for his ability to create a simple yet important story without much melodrama. Maahi Rai has put on performance that is commendable, portraying the character of Appu brilliantly. In his role, he has infused innocence, suffering, and determination into the character. So through his role, he has made all the emotional scenes credible. Pankaj Tripathi has established himself as one of the best actors in Bollywood. His tranquillity and simplicity bring a lot to the story. Other supporting actors like Pawan Malhotra, Rajesh Kumar, Geeta Agrawal Sharma, Sulakhyana Baruah, and Vijay Vid Mishra have done their part well. Negative Points

Despite having a commendable central idea, Ohh My Dog fails because of its slow pacing. The movie is slow because it seems that some scenes have been unnecessarily dragged on and have become boring because of the directors' tendencies to extend some portions of the film unnecessarily. Even though the length of the movie is two and a half hours, the viewer feels that the movie is unnecessarily long. A number of emotional scenes deliver similar ideas, thus damaging their impact. A better edit would have made the movie much more entertaining. Another drawback of the script can be found in its predictability. The audience can understand what will happen much earlier than this event takes place. Additionally, some supporting characters are poorly developed, and there are also many unfinished storylines. There is some emotional quality in the film, as well, but it is not enough to effectively use tension. Besides, those viewers looking for an engaging thriller will find the film boring.
