After a long wait, Marvel Studios has finally released the first official trailer for its superhero blockbuster — Avengers Doomsday. The trailer promises fans of the MCU an impressive mix of beloved characters and stellar performances. Within the trailer, fans witness a variety of favorite characters, including Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Thunderbolts, united in fighting against the villainous Doctor Doom portrayed by Robert Downy Jr. for a surprising comeback of the character.
 

Storyline

The trailer shows how Doctor Doom acts as the ultimate threat to the MCU. Heroes from different universes gather to defeat him before everything is destroyed. Moreover, well-known characters from X-Men franchise such as Professor Xavier, Magneto, Cyclops, Mystique, and Gambit are included.While the trailer does not reveal too much about the plot of the forthcoming film, it does an excellent job of giving the viewer a sense of the scale of the war.

Positive Points

The greatest advantage of this trailer is the enormous amount of fan service in it without too much of fuss. The transformation of Robert Downey Jr. into Doctor Doom instantly interests everyone and brings the audience no small amount of curiosity regarding the character's backstory. The visual effects are impressive – they include amazing action scenes, stunning cinematography, and emotionally touching reunions that remind one of the Infinity saga. The comeback of Chris Evans as well as the role of various popular X-Men actors and superhero teams make the audience feel excited. The trailer also successfully incorporates good background music and impressive visual effects that make each frame feel spectacular.

Negative Points

However stunning this trailer may be, it still fails to explain Doctor Doom’s true motivation. Moreover, with such a large ensemble cast, one may worry whether every player will appear at all meaningfully onscreen. To top it all, other references in this trailer are so heavily based on nostalgia that viewers who did not watch recent MCU products will find the plot of multiverse difficult to follow.

Overall: The Avengers: Doomsday trailer presents a much-needed dose of action, excitement, and incredible crossover moments and heightens anticipation for Marvel’s latest mega-blockbuster. While the plot is still under wraps, the exciting combination of old legends, new heroes, and Doctor Doom is definitely one of the most impressive trailers Marvel has ever created.
