The teaser of Awarapan 2 was finally released which is coincidentally the 19th anniversary of Awarapan (2007), which was a cult classic; all fans will be very emotional when they see Emraan Hashmi reprise the legendary role of Shivam as well.  Although the original film was a financial failure, the character of Shivam has remained with the audience throughout the years.  The main theme of this teaser also indicates that the sequel will relate back to the original film because the visuals are dark, the music is from the original film and the overall tone appears quite emotional.

When the teaser begins, Shivam is shown visiting Aaliyah Hamid's grave as portrayed by Shriya Saran in Awarapan and he is surrounded by dark images and silhouettes within a very haunting atmosphere. The teaser does an excellent job summing up some of the beauty of the original film that helped build its heritage. While there are no specific details about any of the main characters or events from the film, we do get some brief glimpses of some great action sequences, some highly emotional scenes and the revenge theme that will likely play a major role. Emraan Hashmi looks to be back in fine form and keeps the same intensity and vulnerability that made him so beloved by fans in the first film.

Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi are both featured briefly in the teaser and will play critical roles in the sequel. Their brief appearances provide a level of mystery without giving away anything about what their roles will be. At the end of the teaser, Shivam proclaims that he is going to die or leave behind his "award" creating excitement for the film’s emotional finale.

The original film's emotion has been essential to creating this legacy and is very strong in this teaser. It doesn't give us too much to go on in terms of overall plot but does show us some cool fight scenes, as well as some drama and action, which seem to be the focus of the storyline about revenge. Emraan Hashmi seems to be back to 100% and shows the same intensity and vulnerability that his fans loved him for in the first movie.

One standout moment within the teaser is the return of the song “Toh Phir Aao,” which became synonymous with the first film. This addition to 'Shivam's story' links back to our fond memories of the first film while connecting it to the continuation of the storyline that has started in the new movie and provides us with a great trailer that wraps both new movie trailers into one big package.

After the first film, the sequel is directed by Nitin Kakkar who is partnered with Vishesh Films again for the release, which is set for August 14, 2026. The new trailer maintains the overall feel from the last movie but begins 'Shivam's Journey' in the new film.
