The long-awaited teaser for Singh Vs Kaur 2 has finally launched, bringing back Gippy Grewal once more along with Shehnaaz Gill once again in a new standalone adventure directed by Navaniat Singh. Following the tremendous success of Carry On Jatta 4, it goes without saying that the expectations were sky-high. The teaser has promised romance, laughter, much action, and a significant cinematic experience, however, while it may look good, it doesn’t have the impact many filmmakers would have liked.

Storyline

The teaser introduces us to Gippy Grewal’s charismatic Punjabi character who meets Shehnaaz Gill’s Bengali character, after which the focus seems to be made by the journey of their character across different cultural settings where they struggle to tackle cultural differences while at the same time adding the elements of romance, familial drama, etc.. Rather than developing curiosity, the trailer focused considerably on slow-motion shots and action sequences which makes the overall movie more generic than new.

Positive Points

  • Gippy Grewal’s performance is the most appealing; Gippy displays confidence while portraying his character.
  • Shehnaaz Gill is a pretty actress and has a decent on-screen chemistry with Gippy, though she hardly gets any opportunity to prove her acting skills in the clip.

Negative Points

  • The buzz surrounding the teaser is nothing notable because it does not invoke any excitement about its release. 
  • The plot is quite straightforward, doing nothing other than repeating the old story about the Punjabi boy and girl falling in love.
  • The editing looks random and makes the teaser little more than a compilation of aesthetic shots instead of a proper showreel.
  • The action scenes look over-the-top and are not very natural-looking in terms of the romantic comedy style.
  • The dialogues are not interesting, and lack any interesting line that could resonate with the audience.
  • Shehnaaz Gill's character is not used to its full potential.


Overall: Singh Vs Kaur 2 might have high visual quality and be aided by the popularity of Gippy Grewal and Shehnaaz Gill, but the teaser does not create content that was necessarily anticipated. Though visually appealing, it lacks in character development and emotional involvement, as well as in the appealing of the plot. The final output might be different but as far as the teaser is concerned, it feels like another commercial project rather than a notable movie.
